Not just an idea...a life changing experience.

Freedom Thirty Five is all about experiencing life, not waiting until I'm 65 to retire. I want to see things I have never seen, meet new people, take on new challenges, make new friends and reconnect with old ones.

Suggestions

All,

Please post your ideas of places we should visit, things we should, people we should meet.  Whether it be a National Park, city, monument, mountain, cheesy restaurant, or your Aunt Millie that can put us up for a night we want to hear about it.  The great thing about this trip is that we have absolute freedom.  So no ideas are too crazy, go ahead let's have it!

Furthermore if you would like to join us for a few days let us know.  You could always fly out and meet up with us somewhere for a few days of camping or fun in the city.

  3. I don't know if your trip is going to extend past Yellowstone or how long you plan on being on the road, but there are thousands of things to see in Idaho and Western Montana. If you have a passport you can also head up into British Columbia and into the Banff area. Glacier NP is my favorite place on earth, but may be tough to get into before mid-June due to snow. Idaho, particularly the Sawtooth Range and Hells Canyon (seven devils) would be excellent as well. Depending on your direction of travel you could hit the Middle Fork of the Salmon River or the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. If you want to make it all the way to the West Coast, you must travel the highway along the Columbia River Gorge towards Portland. From Hood River (my favorite city) to Portland, the gorge is absolutely packed with some of the most beautiful waterfalls you have ever seen. The southern Oregon coast is unbelievable and the Western Washington Cascades are packed with Alpine Lake treks and gorgeous country.

I'm up in North Idaho (Coeur d'Alene) with easy access to most every place I've mentioned here. If you make it up this way, you certainly have a bed available at our house for as long as you want. From our house Glacier is 5 hours, Seattle 5 hours, Portland 5 hours, Hood River 4 hours, Banff 6 hours, Hells Canyon 4 hours, Boise 7-8 hours, yadda yadda. Lots of stuff to do. Not too mention, North Idaho is a destination unto itself.
